LPCDreissues: Looking forward to the past

Jenghiz Khan was a short-lived Belgian hard rock and heavy psych band active in the early 1970s. Their sound combined elements of hard rock, progressive rock, and psychedelic influences, similar to bands like Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, and early Judas Priest.

Despite their talented musicianship and powerful riffs, the band only released one album before fading into obscurity. However, their work has gained cult status among collectors of underground 70s rock and proto-metal.

Well Cut is the only album by Jenghiz Khan, and it delivers a blend of hard-hitting guitar riffs, organ-driven melodies, and dramatic vocals. The album is a mix of heavy blues rock, early heavy metal, and progressive elements, making it appealing to fans of the late 60s/early 70s rock explosion.

The band’s name and some of the lyrics reflect historical and warlike themes, much like other proto-metal bands of the time.
