Saft was a progressive rock band from Bergen, Norway, active in the early 70s. Brothers Ove Thue and Trygve Thue were the backbone of the band. Saft's largest hit was People in Motion, which beat Slade to Norway's first victory in the radio-show "European Pop Jury". Norwegian lyrics and elements of folk music were characteristics of Saft's varied output.

Their variation was unusually large, with diverse sources of inspiration such as progressive rock, Norwegian folk songs, classical music, and heavy metal. The album featured the song "All the Time." Vocalist Ove Thue based the lyrics on a slogan that emerged in the USA during the Vietnam War: "Fighting for freedom is like fucking for virginity." This was used as the refrain, which proved too strong for the BBC. The British radio station refused to play the record when it was submitted as the Norwegian entry for the European Top in May 1971. Saft responded by printing "Censored by BBC" on the single's cover – right over a photo of a naked Ove Thue, while the rest of the band was also in the picture but clothed. The record was eventually played, but with the mentioned line censored. Saft became one of the first prominent groups in Norway to have a band name in Norwegian and release records where they sang in their native language. They were driven to this while engaged by Den Nationale Scene in Bergen as musicians and actors in the Norwegian version of the hippie musical Hair.
