Contains 12 bonus tracks. The Beau Brummels' second album, cunningly titled VOLUME TWO, is far superior to the somewhat derivative INTRODUCING THE BEAU BRUMMELS. Guitarist Ron Elliot's surprisingly downbeat folk-rock songs are both smarter and more tuneful than those of most of his garage-rocking contemporaries, and the best tracks here, such as "Don't Talk to Strangers" and the brave-front "Doesn't Matter," show that he's one of the most underrated songwriters of his era. Sal Valentino's vocals, as always, are terrific, and Sylvester Stewart (aka Sly Stone) is a canny producer-arranger, giving the songs a crisp, airy feel. As usual with Repertoire releases, VOLUME TWO contains an extra album's worth of bonus tracks, including an alternate version of "When It Comes to Your Love" and a handful of previously-unreleased outtakes.Reissue of the San Francisco-based folk-rock group's secondalbum, originally released in 1965 on the Autumn label.Features all 12 of the original tracks, both bonus tracksfrom Sundazed's reissue ('Woman' (Vocal Version) & 'When ItComes To Your Love' (Instrumental Version)), plus 10 more TRACK LISTING: 1.
