Another rarity from the '70s, this time featuring a long-lost gem fromthe Chica go outfit, Yama And T he Karma Duster s.Originally released on Manhole Records, there were actually three versionsof the same record each featuring a different cover! The original sleevefeatured a hand-drawn cover courtesy of band member Howard Berkman, the second had a silk-screened "fist" and the third boasted a silk-screened"rose". This Radioactive release features the first sleeve because basicallywe rather like it!To add confusion to mayhem, Yama And The Karma Dusters were alsoknown as Euphoria Blimp Works or Euphoria Blimp Works Presents YamaAnd The Karma Dusters Up From The Sewer! Either way, this noteworthyChicago underground album is an excellent blend of varied musical stylesincluding the high-energy rock of Revolution, CTA and the excellentEvolution, folk rockers Don't Kill The Babies and I Want To Make It Back ToPuerto Rico the folk-balladry of I Want To Talk To You, and the strongChicago blues style of Kathleen. As a point of reference, Howard Berkman and Neal Pollack had both playedin The Knaves, a '60s folk-punk outfit also from Chicago.Up From The Sewers could be described as the underground Dylan albumyou've always wanted to hear.
