Small Faces was an English rock band formed in London in 1965. The group consisted of Steve Marriott (vocals, guitar), Ronnie Lane (bass guitar, vocals), Kenney Jones (drums), and Jimmy Winston (keyboards), who was later replaced by Ian McLagan. Known for their energetic performances and blend of rock, rhythm and blues, and soul, Small Faces quickly became one of the leading bands of the mod movement in the UK. They were celebrated for their catchy melodies, powerful vocals, and dynamic stage presence. The band's influence extended into the development of British psychedelic rock and they remain a significant part of the 1960s British rock scene.

Small Faces is the debut studio album by the band, released on May 11, 1966. The album showcases the band's energetic mod rock sound, blending elements of rock and roll, R&B, and soul. Produced by Ian Samwell and Steve Marriott, the album captures the raw energy and youthful exuberance of the band.

Key tracks on the album include "Whatcha Gonna Do About It," the band's first hit single that features Marriott's powerful vocals and the band's tight rhythm section, and "Sha-La-La-La-Lee," which became another major hit, highlighting their knack for catchy, sing-along choruses. "All or Nothing," a soulful ballad that became one of their biggest hits, exemplifies the band's ability to convey deep emotion through music.

The debut album was well-received and established Small Faces as one of the premier mod bands of the era. Its combination of high-energy rockers and soulful ballads set the stage for their continued success and evolution into more psychedelic sounds in their later work. The album remains a quintessential piece of the 1960s British rock landscape, reflecting the vibrant mod culture and the band's undeniable talent.
