With Rumplestiltskin, American producer Shel Talmy tried to form a hard progressive supergroup from top session players, that might rival the highly successful outfits of the time, like Status Quo and Led Zeppelin.

The band remained active for 3 years, from 1969-1972 and made 2 albums, "Same" on BELL in 1970 and "Black Magician", which got released only in Germany on Bellaphon in 1971.
