American blues rock at its finest. This rare American blues-rock record is enough to stimulate enthusiasm for the entire genre. Despite the band's ever changing line-up, master harmonica player, vocalist and blues aficionado Gary Sloan, provided the band with just the right amount of consistency to keep them in constant creative evolution. Throughout the 1970s Proof opened for many of the top names in the business; their self-titled debut album was actually recorded live during two of these opening sets. The first concert took place in Anchorage, Alaska in May of 1970 with Jefferson Airplane as headliners and the second performance took place in the same location in August of that same year, with Rick Nelson as headliners.
