Genoa's iconic '70s prog trio Latte E Miele debuted with a concept album centered around the Gospel According to Matthew, 1972's 'Passio Secundum Mattheum'. Due to the three-piece line-up and the strong classical component of their music, the oft heard comparison to Emerson, Lake & Palmer is a logical one.
However, their second LP 'Papillon', released in 1973, is a more personal and unique affair. Musically, the album is much more fluid and engaging than its predecessor and makes for a perfect example of Italian symphonic progressive rock.
'Papillon' is now reissued as a faithful replica of the original edition, including the 4-page insert which was initially featured inside the LP gatefold cover. The first 500 copies come on lavish red vinyl.
