Fairport Convention's attempt to reinvigorate traditional English folk music succeeded against a cultural backdrop of loud guitars and nascent stadium rock similar to the folk revival across the Atlantic. With 'Liege & Lief' having given the band a foothold at home and in America, their next album 'Full House' would have to work harder to consolidate on the success, with the absence of Sandy Denny's vocal charisma and two new members.
