Austrian Peter Glatzl founded Lazarus in the end of 1970. They existed until 1976 and played in several gigs in Austria.

This amazing album was recorded in Vienna 1973. Only 15 sample copies where pressed and only 5 copies ended up with the band members. The label knew only about German folk music and Schlager. Since they did not know how to handle this far-out recording, thay decided not to release it.

Lazarus remained a big mystery for collectors, since nobody was able to find even one copy to listen for the past 25 years. Some day Hans Pokora located an original LP and then he located the band as well, so thay where able to work out a deal with SHADOKS.  Shadoks were amazed by the great music and the professional compositions and recording. A concept album, a psychedelic opera, presenting the story of Lazarus, who rises as a monster from his grave to spread terror and horror. 

English vocals with amazing fuzz guitar, Zappa style arrangements, great vocals, tons of effects and tight drum sounds.

Do not expect a naive Krautrock style, this is pure Underground as good as Open Mind and July with a good dose of psychedelia.
