This U.S. 60's group works in a beautiful (and often baroque) blend of styles -- bits of late folk rock mixed with headier instrumentation that includes 12 string guitars, harpsichord, organ, celeste, and lots of odd percussion -- plus some nice use of theramin and oscillators! The core sound is honest and earthy -- almost personally poetic -- but the expanded instrumentation really takes the album into more ambitious space, yet somehow manages to do so without the cliches of bigger groups working in a similar style at the time.
