In this fresh look at the pop group Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich, we pick up the story in the
late 60s, when after the hits 'Zabadak' and 'Bend It', founder member Dave Dee decided to go solo.
The remaining members of the group bravely decided to carry on without him and renamed themselves
D.B.M & T. The result was this entertaining album, first released in 1970.
Whereas in the past, the boys had relied heavily on managers Ken Howard and Alan Blaikley to write
their hits, Dozy and Beaky, and even young Tich, composed much of the material on 'Fresh Ear'. The
songs include 'Mr. President', their sole hit single released after Dave Dee's departure.
Among 14 tuneful bonus cuts is a pounding version of Cat Steven's classic 'Matthew And Son'. Get an
earful of this!
