Originally conceived as a solo home recording project,The Beginner’s Mynd is Dan McNabb’s long-distance call to a bygone psychedelic era. Featuring Larry Ferguson on drums and Carrie Ferguson on keyboards, The Beginner's Mynd blends garage rock and pop psychedelia into a sound all their own through the exclusive use of vintage instruments, retro recording techniques, and analog technology.
In 2013, The Beginner’s Mynd released their debut self-titled EP on Burger Records, containing the stand-out tracks “Hazy”, and “Shadows", followed up in 2015 with their first vinyl single on 13 O’Clock Records, “I Found You Out”. “Singing Man” was released by Hidden Volume Records in 2016 (selling out a limited colored vinyl run), and “Shadows” was included on You Are the Cosmos’ label “Twelve String High” compilation. Each release has garnered favorable reviews from The Active Listener, Bananas Magazine, Shindig!, and Ugly Things, as well as radio play across the USA and Europe.
The debut LP from The Beginner’s Mynd, “Don’t Lose Your Mind” was released July 28th on 13 O’Clock Records with a sold out pre-ordered limited lenticular cover, and garnered favorable reviews, and radio play.
