One of the finest British composers of cult TV series’ themes, LaurieJohnson was also in his early years one of the most highly regardedarrangers for swing big bands. From 1959 on, though, he begancomposing mainly for TV and cinema and his resume includes classic cultthemes from No Hiding Place, Top Secret, The Deputy (starring HenryFonda) The Avengers, Shirley MacLaine’s Shirley’s World, The New Avengers and The Professionals,these last two shows produced by his own independent TV company created in 1974 with BrianClemens and Albert Fennell.
