LPCDreissues: Looking forward to the past

Recorded at San Francisco’s legendary Carousel Ballroom on St. Valentine’s Day 1968, this superb live set captures one of the city’s original psychedelic rock bands at the peak of their powers, performing a mixture of material from the two albums they’d released the previous year, as well as the classic Rock and Soul Music, from their forthcoming third LP. It’s offered here in superb fidelity, complete with background notes and rare images.
