BILL GRAHAM MEMORIAL CONCERT featuring: The Grateful Dead, Tracy Chapman, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Santana, Journey, Joe Satriani & Friends, Aaron Neville & Friends, Bobby McFerrin, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Jackson Browne, Joan Baez and Kris Kristofferson
Bill Graham was unquestionably America's leading rock promoter, from the nascent psychedelic scene in 1965 through to mega-events such as Live Aid in 1985.
His untimely death in a helicopter crash in October 1991 robbed the rock world of one of its most colorful and beloved characters. Shortly afterwards, a free concert was mounted in his adoptive home, San Francisco, featuring a host of the biggest names he had been associated with, in front of a crowd of 300,000.
Originally broadcast on a range of TV and FM-radio stations, it's presented in full here, together with background notes and images.
